What is Ecological Solid Waste Management?

The term “Ecological Solid Waste Management” refers to the complementary use of a variety of waste management practices to safely and effectively handle solid waste generated by a locality with the least harmful effects on human health and the environment.

It includes all activities pertaining to the control, transfer and transport, processing and disposal of solid waste in accordance with the best principles of public health, economics, engineering, conservation, aesthetic, and other environmental considerations.

Its scope includes all attendant administrative, financial, legal, planning and engineering functions.
